A Cornerstone Schoolhouse Guide offers a Montessori education to learners between the ages of 3 and 6 years. They have been trained or willing to be trained in the Montessori method and provide guided learning in a stimulating environment. The Guide closely observes each learner to determine and meet their individual needs. The Guide will work closely with our Lead Guide in our one room schoolhouse.

Responsibilities include:

· creating and presenting lesson plans and curricula focused on developing social, physical, intellectual, and emotional skills

· assessing learner's individual needs, and communicating with parents as required

· create a nurturing, stimulating environment where every learner feels included

· maintain educational documentation portfolios

· participate in team meetings, parent meetings, and professional development

Further responsibilities include:

· observing, guiding, supervising, and assessing learners while they learn in the classroom environment.

· developing lesson plans, independent learning exercises, curricula, and methods that cater to the needs of the individual child.

· creating and maintaining a safe, clean, stimulating classroom where all learners feel safe and valued.

· establishing rapport and building relationships with learners based on trust and mutual respect.

· setting an excellent example for learners and instilling good values in them like honesty, accountability, understanding, tolerance, respect, love, and kindness.

· monitoring and assessing learner progress, creating and maintaining learner portfolios.

· ensuring classroom supplies and equipment are available and in working condition.

· participating in school activities and accompanying learners on field trips.

NAMC – Early Childhood 3-6, or willingness to enroll and complete program within 1 year of employment.
